Deliver your marked logs to our yard, and we will issue you a check. We usually inventory and price them within a week or faster if we have an account with you. If you call ahead, we can assist you with unloading and laying out the logs to be scaled.
Interested in bringing in some logs, but not sure what or how? See the section below.
We now offer logging services. To request a quote or to learn more about how we can support local farmers and landowners achieve their goals please send us an email. Our partners can help you estimate what your timber is worth and help you understand what to expect when logging.
We have options for transport including tractors, chips, sawdust trailers, and trucks to support transportation of purchased or sold products.
Our logging operators are equipped with trucks and trailers as well.
We buy most hardwood species found in the state of Tennessee.
We're often asked about the diameters and lengths that we generally take in. Here are some very general guidelines. For larger tracts of land, give us a call, we would be happy to provide more detailed guidance in person.
Diameter: Minimum of 12", measured at the small end of the log (inside the bark)
Length: Minimum of 8’-8” long
In general, logs should have 3"-4” over the desired length for 10’, 12’, 14’, and 16’ logs to ensure the lumber ends up being the nominal lengths.
Keep in mind that some species are susceptible to sap stain or blue stain in the summer months (May to October) if left on the ground too long after being cut. This stain reduces the commercial desirability of the logs. These include Poplar, Sugar Maple, and Ash.
White and Red Oaks also should be promptly brought to the mill during summer months, so that we can keep them under our sprinkler system and preserve their longevity and integrity.
